Margaret Whittington

Margaret Whittington has been providing consultancy since 2007 and has particular expertise in services for older adults, in partnership working, especially between social care and health, and in support for the voluntary sector, where she is a trustee. She has extensive experience as a local authority social worker and social services manager and has worked in several service areas including adult social care, mental health and children and families. She has managed staff teams and services in a variety of community and hospital settings and her expertise encompasses operational, strategic and policy levels of services.

Her consultancy work continues her long record of contributing to and advising on research, the training of staff and the development of services in social care and health. She holds a social work qualification and an MSc in interprofessional studies (London South Bank University) and has experience as a young carer and an adult carer. She was a founding board member and trustee of Healthwatch Bromley (2013-2018) and Community Waves (2017-2020) and continues her role as trustee of Careplus Bromley.
